Our residential communities are your home away from home for the majority of your time at Austin College. Fully trained residential life staff are here to help you as you experience sharing space and ideas, making and enforcing rules, and taking care of yourself and others.
Residence Halls
There are five residence halls on the Austin College campus. Caruth houses only female students, while Baker houses only male students. Clyce Hall, Dean Hall and the Jordan Family Language House are all co-ed residences. The college also offers many housing options for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. These include the Bryan Apartments, The Flats at Brockett Court, Johnson 'Roo Suites, The Dr. Marjorie Hass Village on Grand (the Cottages), and the North Flats.
All College-owned residences are equipped with kitchens (including microwaves), lounges, card-operated laundry facilities, and computer labs with printers. All halls are monitored by a computerized security system, as well as on-site residence life staff.
Description of Rooms
Most rooms in the residence halls are double occupancy; single rooms, when available, cost more. Each room is furnished with the following items per occupant: a single bed, desk, chair, chest and wardrobe/closet. Students must provide all linens and any other accessories. Beginning in Fall 2016, Austin College will no longer provide cable service in individual residence halls rooms. Cable will be available in the common areas of each residential building. Students who wish to watch television shows through a TV will need to bring a smart TV that can be connected to the Internet or a streaming device (Roku, Apple TV, Chrome Cast, etc.).
Bryan Apartments, Johnson ‘Roo Suites and all residence halls are all equipped with both wired and wireless networks.
